Recently, OptConnect attended the ATM Industry Association’s (ATMIA) 21st annual U.S. conference. Each year, many ATMIA members and attendees converge on a 3-day conference to network, learn, and move the industry forward. This event is ideal for ATMIA to fulfill its core values of education, advocacy, and connections.
ATMIA consistently provides an excellent turnout for the ATM industry, and the networking at this show is second to none. Here at OptConnect, we’ve found it’s a great opportunity to present advances in technology and educate our customers on what’s coming and what new products/services we’ve invested in.
The Future of ATM Connectivity
This year’s conference was hosted in Houston, Texas at the Hilton Americas. There was a strong turnout this year, and it appeared very busy for most of the three days at the show. What was exciting for us is that Steve Garrett, Chief Product Officer at OptConnect, and myself, Director of Strategic Accounts at OptConnect, had the opportunity to speak in a breakout session for about 40 minutes about The Future of ATM Connectivity.
In this session, we touched on how the carriers are moving from networks that supported millions of people’s phones to networks that will support billions and billions of different types of connections. You simply can’t think of networks as just supporting smartphones anymore; they’ll support sensors, robotics, tracking devices, driverless cars, and much, much more. It’s important to find your sweet spot within 5G and available options for the equipment you need to connect, and we can certainly help consult you there.
Launching mylo at the 21st Ånnual ATMIA U.S. Conference
Even more exciting for OptConnect, at this year’s conference, we launched mylo, our newest and first dual-carrier, 5G router. This is a great device that can be installed further from towers, is proven to have better building penetration, and is the first device for this industry that has multi-carrier redundancy that furthers our goal to provide headache-free connectivity.
OptConnect mylo was a hit. From the magnetic backing all the way to the dual-carrier support, mylo’s features clearly demonstrated OptConnect’s commitment to reliability and superiority for its customer base. We discussed the benefits with many operators at the show, but we’re also happy to assist any customer or prospect with questions on sites that have been difficult to connect reliably. It has taken a lot of time, research, and development to release mylo, so it felt great to get that product out and consult everyone on 5G and what it means for their business.
Connectivity for ATMs
At the end of the conference, we walked away with new contacts, new opportunities, and new ideas to help our customers advance their business well into the future from cryptocurrency options to new advertising platforms, and even other supplemental kiosk opportunities. The market continues to advance and require more reliable connectivity.
As carriers continue to market in various ways to consumers, we’ll make sure to help consult you on the best options for your business, and we’re not done innovating yet.
